In this section of the website, we demonstrate how you can support the work we do with donations and sponsorship.
Although we are partly funded by public money (local and national government) and charitable trusts, these cannot cover all of the costs of running our services and supporting women and children. Public money comes with restrictions – quite rightly – on how it is to be spent, but this means that we cannot always use it to respond to the particular needs of our service users. We may also receive funding which requires us to find an equivalent amount through other means: ‘matched’ funding.
Domestic violence can cause great hardship: women and children who have to flee their homes to escape violence may only be able to bring a few possessions and provisions. We really appreciate donations of money or of the goods themselves: we provide Welcome Packages to women and children who come to stay in our refuges, for instance.
Part of our work involves raising awareness of domestic violence, with the general public and with other agencies who provide support. We are grateful to other agencies who are able to offer us corporate support, by advertising our events, providing venues and other practical support.
