Domestic Violence doesn’t always mean physical violence
- are you afraid of your partner?
- does your partner constantly check up on you, make it difficult for you to see family and friends, withold money, food or affection from you?
- are you worried that your children are affected?
Whether you have experienced physical, sexual or emotional abuse, you do not have to suffer alone. Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid can help. We will listen to you, support you and give you time and space to decide what you want to do. We won’t judge you because of what you say or force you to make a decision you do not want to make.
It is important to remember that the abuse you have experienced is not your fault. Domestic Violence can happen to any woman whatever her age, class, disability, ethnicity, HIV status, lifestyle, religion, sexuality or transgender status.
About this website
The menu list on the left-hand side in purple, leads to information on the different subjects. So, if you’re suffering abuse but you’re scared to leave in case you become homeless, for instance, you can click on Housing and it will give you information to help you with your decision. At the end of each of these pages, you will find a list of the different BSWA services that can help with this problem. You can also click on ‘List of Services’ to quickly find the contact details for each one (and more information if you need it).
The menu bar running across the top of the page gives information on BSWA as an organisation and some facts and figures about Violence Against Women. You will also find information about working with us and supporting us here.
